Lego Builders
Center for Early Education
Spring 2025
Dear Families,
Our Lego Builders class has been off to a fun and creative start! Each week, your kids have been building, dancing, and collaborating as they work through a series of themed Lego challenges designed to encourage imagination, teamwork, and problem-solving.
In our first class, we played a game called Lego Freeze Dance. Students built their own unique creations—like a Star Wars spaceship, a winding staircase, and even an Ice Cream Shop Hotel—while dancing between building breaks to songs like “Can’t Stop the Feeling” and “Happy.” In Week 2, we introduced the Lego Amazing Race, where students rotated through building stations to construct towers, bridges, and machines. Between each station, they bounced, balanced, and boogied their way to the next challenge!
Each project encourages creativity while helping the kids develop their engineering and fine motor skills… all the while, inspiring FUN! We've been so impressed by the originality of their builds and their enthusiasm for each new activity.
In the coming weeks, students will build their own Lego cities, design and test Lego “golf clubs”, and even draw “blueprints” to guide their final builds of the term! We can’t wait to see what else they come up with as their ideas come to life—brick by brick!
Warmly,
Mary Anne Buckley, Curated Care teacher
