Dear Families,

Pokémon, the global smash-hit manga, anime, and video game, has been around for over 20 years. The card game is the latest evolution of the franchise and has become a highly sought-after collectible and trading game, though many still don’t know how to play.

In Pokémon Club, students are learning how to play, read the cards, strategize, and collect these wonderfully drawn and prized game cards. I created a literacy tool with the card game at its center, which incorporates reading, basic math, teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship. Students are learning how to build a deck, understand the rules, explore various strategies, and above all, have fun!
