Knitting 101

Sacred Heart

Spring 2025

Dear Families,

Knitting 101 is all about learning the skills and patience to make something out of yarn. All fiber arts have the same base, so we start with learning to make slip knots and then the kids can choose whichever tool they are the most drawn to, whether it be needles, hooks, or looms. So the Knitting 101 group is working on mastering not only knitting, but crocheting and weaving too!

This semester, Caroline has been diligently working on her crochet scarf, Jojo and Emily are both working on weaving scarves, and Izzy is knitting a hat! It is so exciting to see how much progress everyone makes on their project each week, and they will all hopefully get to take home their finished product by the end of the year.

With the remaining classes we will keep working hard to finish their projects before the summer so they have a new scarf or hat to wear next winter!

Best,

Emily, Curated Care teacher
