Graphic Novel Creation
Turning Point School
Spring 2025
Dear families,
Our Graphic Novel Creation class has been working steadily to develop students' own original stories into incredible short comics.
Each class, we draw a creative name tag to get our creative juices flowing. We started by learning about shape language and character design. Then, we started expanding our knowledge of storyboarding and different shot types we can use in our graphic novels! We compared our original drawings with published graphic novel examples. We also spent time practicing the principles of design so we can create more interesting visual compositions.
For the rest of the class, students will be continuing to develop their own original graphic novel ideas with new drawing materials. We hope they end up with a final project they are excited to share with you!
Best,
Dale McCallum, Curated Care teacher
