Spring 2025
Dear Families,
In Archeologists Club we’ve been working with students to expand their discovering skills and knowledge of ancient and prehistoric artifacts, while using creativity and imagination to bring these long-lost worlds to life.
Some of the amazing projects we’ve worked on so far were crafting our own discovery jars that students got to decorate with glitter glue and their own drawings of whatever artifacts they wanted. Some chose dinosaurs, others chose to recreate their favorite gemstones from our gemstone hunt in an earlier class, others wanted to draw their favorite ancient big cats. We will soon be filling these discovery jars with kinetic sand and hunting for more artifacts, gems, and fossils!
In an earlier class, students got to draw their favorite dinosaurs or prehistoric creatures and then glue Q-Tips down to create the skeletons of the creatures. Max wanted so badly to draw his favorite dinosaur, a T-Rex, but was really struggling with the assignment, saying he didn’t know how to draw one. So Henry quickly stepped in and offered his help to draw one with Max so he could still create the skeleton with the rest of the class. Max’s turned out so good, he left it in the classroom for others to see.
In another class, we got to make our own dinosaur matching game! Students really took to this, creating some amazingly imaginative dinosaurs, like robot dinosaurs! Once they had finished drawing, they got to play the matching game with their partners. They enjoyed it so much, they played over and over again! While some students continued playing, we helped others turn their amazing drawings into stickers to take home. Although, some students were so eager to use them, they couldn’t even make it home before sticking them on their shirts, proud to show them off!
Best,
