Dear Families,

Our Lego Builders class at Rodeph Sholom has been successfully developing knowledge of architecture and building through hands-on activities with legos!

Each week has centered around one distinct theme (i.e. animals, superheroes, food, planes, etc.) in which the students begin class by making their own blueprint. After discussing what a blueprint is and why they are helpful, students use blue paper and white oil pastel to create their own!

Once they complete their blueprint, they use their imaginative drawing skills to then bring their blueprint to life with their legos. Then, just before dismissal, the students do their own show-and-tell where they can share with the class what they created!

The next step with Lego Builders is to practice team building by introducing group challenges, partner challenges, and active problem-solving activities that can bring their lego building skills to the next level!
